DESCRIPTION:“Mr. President\, how long must women wait for liberty?” Over 100 years later\, suffragette Amelia Himes Walker’s words still ring true.  \nSure\, women won the right to vote and have made many gains since then. But women—and everyone—in America have grown less free as government power\, surveillance\, red-tape\, and control have grown.  \nThat’s why we’ll be showing up for the Women’s March on Washington on Saturday\, Jan. 19\, 2019. And this year\, the march coincides with LibertyCon 2019! \nOn Jan. 17-19\, libertarian activists from around the world will gather in downtown D.C. for Students For Liberty’s annual conference \nFeminists for Liberty wants to make sure that libertarian women and libertarian feminism are well-represented at the D.C. march! So whether you’re attending the conference or not\, join us for a field trip to Freedom Plaza that Saturday from 1-4:30 p.m.  \nAfterward\, we invite you to join us for drinks and post-march camaraderie at Allegory bar (1201 K St NW\, in the Eaton hotel\, just around the corner from LibertyCon is being held). We’ll be there from 5-6 p.m. Conference-goers who didn’t attend the march are also welcome to stop by. And folks coming from the march can carpool with us. \nWHO: Liberty-minded folks are welcome for both\, regardless of gender or sex.  \nWHEN & WHERE: If you’re coming from LibertyCon\, meet us in front of the Marriott Marquis Washington (where the conference is being held) at 12:45 p.m. We’ll caravan down to the rally together at 1:00 p.m. sharp. OR\, meet us by the General Casamir Pulaski statue in Freedom Plaza anytime from 1:30-4 p.m. (We’ll be hard to miss.) \nWHY: Because\, the state has been the biggest perpetrator of gender-based discrimination\, and because being pro-feminism doesn’t mean you’re pro-state. \nWHAT TO WEAR: Come dressed as a suffragette if you’re feeling fancy\, rock your favorite libertarian feminist swag\, don your best protest tee\, or just show up. We’ll have plenty of extra sashes and signs.

All are welcome\, regardless of sex or gender. \nWe’ll be on the second floor of Exiles Bar D.C. on U St NW. Stop by anytime between 6-9 p.m. to find out what Feminists for Liberty is about. Snacks are on us\, and happy hour drink specials go ’til eight. \nWe’ll do the ‘salon’ portion from about 6:30-7:15 p.m. This time around\, we’ll focus the roundtable discussion on a question we hear a lot: BUT ISN’T FEMINISM COLLECTIVIST? \nStick around for some unstructured socializing after that. DESCRIPTION:On January 20\, 2018\, women and their allies will once again take to the streets of D.C. to harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change. Let’s make sure libertarian women and libertarian feminism are well represented! \nWHO: Feminists for Liberty\, joined by the Ladies of Liberty Alliance\, will be bringing the message of libertarian feminism to the Women’s March on Washington 2018. We want you to join us — regardless of sex or gender. Come dressed as a suffragette\, rock your favorite libertarian feminist swag\, or just show up — we’ll bring extra signs.  \nWHEN & WHERE: We’ll meet up at the Starbucks at 1957 E St NW starting at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday and head down to the rally together at 10:45 a.m. sharp.  \nWHY: Because\, the state has been the biggest perpetrator of gender-based discrimination\, and because being pro-feminism doesn’t mean you’re pro-state.
