In this introduction video, Todd Krainin lays out what he looks for in a video contest entry.

Todd is a documentary filmmaker in Los Angeles. He spent a year dodging water cannons and tear gas canisters while shooting the Nepalese Civil War for the Kathmandu Post. Back stateside, he was the chief photographer and video editor at two daily newspapers, The Imperial Valley Press (El Centro, California) and The Victoria Advocate (Victoria, Texas). He has made over 150 videos as a producer on staff with Reason magazine.

Todd’s videos and photographs have been published in The New York Times, TIME Magazine, Newsweek, The Los Angeles Times, and The San Francisco Chronicle. His work can be seen at toddkrainin.com.
